Misty Croslin was sentenced today to a second 25 years on drug charges from Putnam County, Florida.

The time will be served concurrently with the other 25-year sentence she is already serving on a St. Johns County conviction of trafficking in oxycodone.

In addition to the prison time, Croslin will receive five years of probation, a $1.25 million fine and mandatory drug rehabilitation.

Although several undercover video tapes show Misty selling drugs she told the judge she was not a drug dealer. “I have made some bad choices, and I know I have to take what I have done, and I just ask that you give me another chance.”

Her father, Hank Croslin Sr., made the same plea to the judge.

“She was not a drug dealer. She never was,” he said. “She just got caught acting stupid. She never sold drugs in her life. I don’t believe she took too many of them. I just ask the court be lenient, please.”

Croslin; Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings; brother, Hank Croslin Jr.; and two others were arrested in January 2010 in an undercover sting and charged with selling prescription drugs in January.

Prosecutors released surveillance videos they said shows undercover drug deals involving Misty Croslin and Ronald Cummings.

Misty Croslin was sentenced to 25 years on a charge of trafficking oxycodone in St. Johns County.

Last summer, Croslin’s attorney, Robert Fields, told the judge that a “landslide of evidence,” including the undercover video, led to her to plead no contest to the St. Johns County charges.

Misty Croslin is the last of the five arrested to be sentenced. Ronald Cummings and Hank Croslin Jr. both received 15-year sentences.

During the October sentencing hearing, Croslin told Judge Wendy Berger that she was raped between the ages of 7 and 14 by two people while she was taking care of her great-grandmother. She said that while Ronald Cummings was rough with her, it was an upgrade in her life and she loved him.

Authorities have maintained that the drug charges have no connection to the ongoing investigation of Haleigh’s disappearance, which they now consider a homicide case.

Haleigh was 5 years old when she vanished from her home in Satsuma, in southern Putnam County. Croslin, who was Ronald’s girlfriend when Haleigh disappeared, married and divorced him within six months.

Even with little to no physical evidence, deputies are treating Haleigh’s disappearance as a homicide, and investigators have continued questioning the Croslins while in jail hoping to learn new information.

Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh’s mother, was in the courtroom Monday, but she said she wasn’t too concerned with the outcome of the sentencing.

“I don’t care about her or her family. All I want is my baby home.”

“It’s all in her hands,” Sheffield said. “She has the answers, not me. I was not there.”

“Just tell the truth,” Sheffield said. “You say you love my children, why do this? God will remember one day. He will give me answers.”

A private investigator and bondsman related to the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings was arrested and charged with false imprisonment Friday.

William Eugene Staubs, 51, of Weston, Fla., is accused of taking Daniel Everett Snodgrass, 51, from his Satsuma home against his will on March 20.

Staubs, also known as “Cobra,” had been working closely with attorney Kim Picazio, who represents Crystal Sheffield, the mother of Haleigh Cummings. Haleigh has been missing since February, and was last seen in her Satsuma home.

Haleigh Cummings, 5, was reported missing on Feb. 11.

It all started when Snodgrass was arrested and charged with sexual battery of a child under 12. Snodgrass filed a complaint saying that Staubs called him out of his home on a loudspeaker with a siren on.

According to a news release, Snodgrass told Detective Ken Taylor that Staubs told Snodgrass he was revoking Snodgrass’ bond, threw Snodgrass to the ground, handcuffed him and forced him into Staubs vehicle. Staubs then reportedly drove away from the residence headed towards Palatka, according to the release. After driving a short distance and making several telephone calls, Staubs reportedly turned around, drove Snodgrass back to his residence and released him, the news release said.

Jail officials said that Snodgrass had been bonded out of jail when the incident occurred.

Staubs is being held on $5,004 bond at the Putnam County Jail.

The Haleigh Bug Foundation

will be at this year’s Catfish Festival in Crescent City, passing out flyers with the missing 5-year-old’s picture.

Haleigh Cummings

The Haleigh Bug Foundation located on Hwy 17 in Satsuma, Florida is a group of dedicated individuals that are looking to bring Haleigh Cummings home.

“Haleigh has been missing since February 9th, and I want to keep her picture in everybody’s heads,” said Debbie Huddleston.

“My main focus is Haleigh and finding out where she is…it’s been too long and it’s too frustrating.”

Huddleston says she spent days on the phone with the festivals organizers trying to get permission to walk in Saturday’s Catfish Festival Parade,. At first, she says they were reluctant because the deadline had passed to register. Then on Wednesday, the organizers said it would be fine for them to walk.

“That’s all I want them to do is see Haleigh, that’s the main focus…keep Haleigh in the spotlight,” said Huddleston.

Next stop, says, Huddleston will be the Putnam County Raceway where the organizer there has agreed to donate the night’s proceeds to the Haleigh Bug Foundation. Then on to the Green Cove State Fair. She wants to hopefully set up a booth where volunteers can pass out flyers.

“Anyone that wants to is welcome to come down here and share information, come down and show their support,” said Jeremiah Ragan, a family friend.

The foundation is called “The Haleigh Bug” foundation. When Haleigh was a baby, her mother would call her “Haleigh Bug”. Now, the name serves as a reminder that the little girl may be gone, but not forgotten.
