Misty Croslin Interview May 25th 2011
It is her first in-depth television interview since being arrested on drug charges. She was sentenced in January and is now serving 25 years at Lowell.
“They got me in prison for 25 years. If I knew anything, they would know it from Day 1. I don’t know anything. … Just because when I say something one time, it doesn’t come out the same way. I guess that’s why they think I’m changing my story, but I’m not,” Croslin said.
She responds to being called the “key” by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to cracking the Haleigh case. Croslin was married to Ron Cummings, the father of Haleigh; the girl vanished while in Croslin’s care in February 2009.
Croslin describes how investigators in Haleigh’s case told her before her sentencing that if she told them where Haleigh was, they would drop the drug charges. Croslin said she told them she didn’t know anything.
“People don’t understand that it kills me every day. I was asleep, I woke up and she was gone. Every night I go to sleep, I think maybe when I wake up she’s going to be beside me,” Croslin said.

I thought casey anthony was the best lier,misty takes the cake! she was jealous of ronald and haliegh’s relationship and that’s why haliegh went missing and not lil’ronald. It isn’t that hard to see through these girls! she will probably blame her dad and brother of sexual abuse to. SAD,REALLY SAD!!!!
Misty was a child living a life she learned from her parents and grandparents. She may come from the wrong side of the tracks and be rough around edges but she IS a child none the less. Consider this when harshly judging her, you were once an irresponsible, hard headed, naive child too! She is guilty of selling drugs, yes, but does this warrant 25 years? Absolutely NOT! If anything the parents in this case should have been held responsible for Misty, Ronald, and even their cousin. Can’t you see where the behavior stemmed from??? Seriously! It seems we will never know what happened to Haleigh which is a terrible, tragic loss. Misty, however, seems genuine in the fact that she was sleeping. It is a heavy enough burden for her to carry knowing this. A CHILD MURDERER IS STILL OUT LIVING FREE! It’s time we STOP blaming a Misty. This is a tragic case of character profiling taken to the extreme. Misty and her entire family of degenerates were the PERFECT target for the Police and media because most people do not feel sympathy for these types of characters. It’s time people stop judging enough so they can see clearly.
I fully realize that Misty Croslin was raised by pos parents, I’m sure anyone who has followed this case would agree on that point. However, that’s a pretty lame excuse for her ridiculous behavior. She was NOT by ANY means, consistent w/the story that she was asleep when Haleigh disappeared. She has had numerous other accounts when questioned a/b that night. I too think that 3 25 yr sentences is a bit much for selling drugs @ the age of 18 but it is what it is. No crime~no time.
