SATSUMA — Saturday marks three months since Haleigh Cummings, 5, disappeared from her home in Putnam County. Investigators say leads are not coming in as fast as they once did.
James Batchelor moved to the back woods of Satsuma for the peace and quite. All that changed Feb. 9 when the little girl who played with her brother down the street just vanished in the middle of the night..
“I look down there and they’d be out there and just having a big time and all — BAM — all this happened,” said Batchelor, a neighbor of the Cummings family.
Batchelor was referring to the night that Putnam Sheriff’s investigators say Haleigh Cummings was snatched from her home.
An intense search followed for several weeks by ground, water and air. Active searching has been abandoned with few clues leading to her whereabouts.
“It’s frustrating for investigators. It’s frustrating for the family. It’s frustrating for the community down there,” said Capt. Dick Shauland of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Two tents where Haleigh’s parents held round-the-clock vigils are gone.
Even Haleigh’s father moved from the home she disappeared from. They lived a short distance from where authorities set up a command center. The command center is also gone, moved from Satsuma to Palatka.
The Haleigh Cummings command center is no longer located at the Putnam County emergency operations center. Tips and leads have dwindled from several thousand to just a few.
“They dropped off from several hundred a day to just several a day now,” Shauland said.
Haleigh’s house is quiet. The landlord says no one has been around for days. Only pictures, prayers and words of hope are left behind.
“She’ll be found one way or another, and I hope to God it’ll be alive because the little angel didn’t deserve — she didn’t deserve it,” Batchelor said.
I’m starting to wonder if Haleigh is just going to be one of thousands of kids that have just dissappeared and no one know for sure what ever happened to them.
There is one person that knows exactly what happened to Haleigh Cummings, will they ever crack?

Isn’t it obvious what has happened? I mean, seriously. Why aren’t the “parents” in jail? It was 100% Misty and Ronald. No question. There would be no other reason for them to get married right after Haleigh’s disappearance.

Misty is just young. Girls her age sometimes make mistakes. She may have used poor judgment and even neglience as a babysitter. She didn’t kill Haleigh. If the police pin this on her they are letting the bad guy (the real pervert) go free to repeat his disgusting crime. Shame on the Putnam County Investagators.
Misty is guilty! Maybe not for murder but she let them take hayleigh, and she knows what they did with that little girl. Shes done too much talking not to know.
misty and ron know exactly what happened. they both have too many inconsistancies in their stories. they are also very vague with their answers and even refuse to answer questions at times. the innocent parents of a missing child are not evasive. on the contrary, innocent people go out of their way to do everything to get their child back. they aren’t arguing with law enforcement and the media. innocent people allow le to investigate them thoroughly. innocent people use the media to their advantage. also, innocent people aren’t joking around on video tape during a drug deal. ask any le officer what parents of a missing child do. le officers will tell you that innocent people keep the pressure on le to find their child. they aren’t out selling drugs and getting high.
