Misty Croslin was the girlfriend of Haleigh Cummings’ father, Ronald Cummings, when Haleigh disappeared.
She is 17 years old and is now his wife.
Being the last adult to see Haleigh before she went missing, she is a key figure in this story.
During a recent interview Croslin, who has given various different versions of the events of that fateful night Haleigh disappeared, had a few things to say.
“Thank you to everyone who’s tried to help us,” said Misty Croslin.
In response to questions about her age and her ability to care for the two children….
“I’ve been babysitting since I was 11,” she said. “I have three nieces and two nephews and one on the way, and I’ve watched all of them.”
Born in Michigan. She now has lived in Florida for seven years. Croslin has lived in various parts of the state, including Daytona, where she lived with her brother.
She has lived in Putnam County off and on for about a year. Her parents live here. She said she prefers city life.
Misty Croslin has been dating Haleigh’s father for about seven months now and has lived with him for almost all of their relationship.
Misty dropped out of school.
Misty Croslin and Ronald Cummings reported Haleigh missing around 3:30 a.m. February 10, 2009. The little girl’s brother was also there.
“I always stay with the kids,” she said. “I had them 24/7, except for the four days out of the month when they would go to their mom’s.”
“I was over-exhausted. I was real tired. I had a long weekend,” she said.
“I remember him being up…I was half asleep…That was right after I laid down…Got up and walked out of my room…And the next thing I know I was out. I don’t remember nothing after that,” Croslin said.
