Misty Croslin accused her cousin Joe Overstreet of….
- Having a fight with Ronald Cummings over a stolen gun.
- Threatening revenge after the fight.
- Returning a borrowed van from Misty’s sister-in-law with a scratch on the side.
He left Florida to return to Tennessee at the time Misty went missing.
Now I hear this report on the HLN cable television channel….
“Joe Overstreet had used a brick to prop open the door during previous break-ins.”
This came from T.J, Hart, news director of WSKY FM 97.3 in Gainsville, FL.
If I find more information on this subject I will post it here. Has anyone else heard this story?
Can anyone enlighten us with some information on this guy? I’m considering him a prime suspect.
Evidently Misty is (or was) pretty close to this bunch, yet she accused Joe on national TV of being a criminal “all his life.”
Lisa, Misty’s Mom, has turned on her own sister. I sure would like to know what is really going on between Misty’s family and Ron’s.

This is not Joe’s brother,it’s his cousin,both are cousins of Misty’s.Any information you get from T J Hart or Art Harris comes from William Staubbs,aka Cobra.He came in this case after meeting with Leonard Padilla on the morning of Caylee Anthony’s Memorial.I imagine hoping to get the same exposure as Padilla did on Nancy Grace.JMO Kim Picazio came in and they work together and are from Fort Lauderdale.Any news you hear from Hart or Harris comes from Staubbs or Picazio in the custody case for Jr.JMO I believe Nancy Grace’s producers were smart enough to not touch a custody case when a child is missing.I understand she was bombarded with emails after Crystal Sheffield came out swinging for a custody case instead of using the media to search for her daughter on Geraldo Rivera show.The photos of Haleigh’s school accident were used in pictures to show Haleigh was abused.But,the school verified this accident happened at school and I imagine this is why it is not brought up anymore.Joe Overstreet has been spoken to,he is from Tennessee,but all people are suspect at this time according to the Sheriff Dept.Because this is a custody case and has been for a long time,anything that is said,should be looked at as such.Custody cases are messy and you can not believe everything that is said and should been taken as a grain of salt.JMO
Misty was not close to her Tennessee cousin,Joe,she is close to Brandon from photos seen.I think Joe might be one of those cousins that get in trouble from a teenager and you see him every once in awhile.There have been many rumors reported from TJ Hart and Art Harris with information gotten from Crystal’s lawyer and Staubbs,but time and again the rumors have failed to be truth.I believe when you are looking to find things for a court case and can find nothing,you have to make things up and try to prove them.JMO I would find it hard to even consider starting a foundation when my child is missing or concentrating on collecting money for my own needs.Every penny I had would be to find my child and every second I had in the media I would beg for my child.The father tried to do this and said to not concentrate on his life,but help find his child.He was backed into the shadows on the defensive,even marrying to prepare for what he knew would be a custody case.How different this would have been if the parents had worked together to bring thier child home.How will thier son and daughter feel as a young adults and look back on the behavior of those that should have been searching and begging for Haleigh’s return?

Thanks for the info Lise. I know all too well the accusations that can come with a custody case and anything either party says is suspect. Some people will say and do almost anything to win custody of their kids even if the kids are destroyed in the process.

brat, drug addict, sex addict, alcoholic like the rest of the trailer trash.
ron is no better, as he was arrested nine times and if it wasnt for his
mother working at the police station they can throw the keys away on
this scummy redneck…obviously misty had something to do with the
killing of haleigh and should be held in jail until she cooperates, she
is not a mature person, and needs psychiatric help quick….ron is just
a bullshitter, they better not try that bullshit up north…only in fla…
Only thing is, Misty is only 17. When did Ron start dating her? Why was he leaving his children overnight with such a young girl. Who started her on drugs? This is why statutory rape is a law. This is not the 1800’s where girls got married at 13. A 17 year old this day in age isn’t prepared to raise 2 young children. If it was drug related and Haleigh died, there would be someone who knew about it that would want to claim the reward. I think it’s someone who knew this young girl was the only one watching these kids (like a predator) and they broke in and stole her. Misty, on drugs, never woke up. Just my theory.
why can’t the cops chase down cousin Joe Overstreet, and give him a poly as to his involvment or knowledge of Haleigh?
